Work Inspection Services of the Paseo del Bajo. Section B: South Semi-covered Trench.
The “Paseo del Bajo” project arises from the need to decongest the intense heavy traffic that exists today in the access to the port area of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. It consists of the execution of a North – South linking corridor that would connect the Buenos Aires – La Plata Highway (located in the southern area of the city) with the Illia Highway (located in the Retiro area) and would complete a fast track ring.
AC&A is in charge of the construction inspection of section B of this project. This section is the one corresponding to the south semi-discovered trench that runs between the P.R. 736.15 (at Carlos Calvo street) and the P.R. 2,234.10 (at the height of Bartolomé Mitre street). There are a total of 1,598 meters of trace. In it, semi-covered trench-type structures (60% open and 40% closed) will be built and 10 vehicular bridges and 9 pedestrian walkways with ramps will be built at the beginning of the section, so that pedestrians can descend from the level of the deck of the South Node viaduct (section A) up to the level of the bottom slab of the trench. A new railway will also be built to move the trace of the existing one.
Descriptive summary of the activities carried out by the firm
There are three phases that make up the work inspection task carried out by AC&A:
• OFFER EVALUATION PHASE: the analysis of the documentation and the evaluation of proposals are carried out.
• PROJECT REVIEW PHASE: consists of the initial study of the work area, the analysis of external conditions, the review of the project structure and the work program, the review of the qualitative control planning (Quality Plan ) and the environmental program and quantitative control planning review.
• WORK SUPERVISION PHASE: moment in which AC&A carries out technical monitoring, quality control, safety control, environmental monitoring, planning and progress monitoring and quantitative monitoring (measurement of work carried out and certification of work progress) of the construction site.
